Bassoonist Štěpán Jinek began playing the bassoon at the age of six at the Taussigova Elementary Art School in Prague. From 2019 to 2025 he studied in the class of Ondřej Roskovec, principal bassoonist of the Czech Philharmonic, at the Prague Conservatory. Since 2025 he has continued his studies at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim with Prof. Ole Kristian Dahl.
During his studies he has collaborated with a number of leading orchestras, including the Prague Philharmonia, the Pilsen Philharmonic, the South Bohemian Philharmonic, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic.
From 2022 to 2025 he was a member of the Orchestral Academy of the Prague Philharmonia and taught at the Taussigova Elementary Art School. He is a member of the Czech Double Reed Society and regularly takes part in masterclasses and workshops.
